Michigan's Upper Peninsula is a wild place. By the turn of the 20th Century, copper mines fueled the local economy in "da UP" with a reach far beyond its modest borders, most of which are closer to Wisconsin than Lower Michigan. Not a lot remains of those heady economic times, but the many historical buildings that were left behind still hold a certain magic within their walls. And the locals, "Yoopers," are some of the hardiest and friendliest people I've ever come across. Which brings me to this wedding, which was held in the historic Calumet Theatre. It brought together two college sweethearts, Victoria and John, and they really threw a great party. Victoria is a Yooper, John is a "Troll" from Lower Michigan. On a hot August day, Yooper and Troll got married and another chapter of Upper Peninsula lore was written.
